BRANISLAVA (Bosnia&Herzegovina)

  • Tell me your name, the country you came from and the instrument that you play?
My name is Branislava. I came from Serbia, but from this project I represent Bosnia&Herzegovina. I play violin.
  • How is the creative process going?
Really nice! The first day was very hard for all of us, to…you know…find out the characters and a way of playing for each member, but now we are getting better every day.
  • Which topics did you choose for your songs?
Human rights in general, nothing specific so far.
  • Which genres of music did you choose for your songs?
We have a lot of genres…we have a pop-rock part, the Serbian traditional part…so many of them actually.
  • What was the hardest thing at the beginning?
Hmmm..I don’t know. To know in which way we should go.
  • What was your favorite part of these rehearsals?
That creative moment that is happening inside.

  • Which genres of music did you choose for your songs?
We chose a pop/rock vibe for the song.

My name is Lisa. I came from Israel, and I am playing flute.

Very interesting and inspiring and at the same time very difficult. It is very hard to listen to each other and when everyone is playing it is very hard to concentrate. However, I like what we are doing.
  • Which topics did you choose for your songs?
One song is about freedom of speech and freedom of voice.
  • Which genres of music did you choose for your songs?
We experimented with jazz and funk, now it is more like Bossa Nova. We also tried rock and oriental music…I do not know we just combined everything, and I hope it will sound good at the end.
  • What was the hardest thing at the beginning?
I think to get to know each other. All the people are very different, with the different visions, and with the different music that they are listening to.
  • What was your favorite part of these rehearsals?
Hmm..it is when I listen to the final result even if it is only a small part like when we combine verse and bridge.

I think freedom of being and living.

  • Which topics did you choose for your songs?
The two singers chose the topics and wrote the lyrics but I think they are dealing with slavery and children abuse.
  • Which genres of music did you choose for your songs?
The first song is afrobeat and then rumba in the second part. The second song has gospel and soul music vibes.
